Long Shot

This type of shot is mainly used for scene setting, a sort of establishing shot. Most of the time it is used outdoors for films which involve scenes of the landscape or buildings, however it can also be used in thrilling scenes of maybe a war or disaster film.

Medium Shot

This type of shot is used to deliver information to the audience. It is mostly used for TV Presenters. It is the most common used type of shot in regular films, it shows the subject of the scene in relation to the surroundings.


Close Up

This type of shot tightly frames the person or the object, its one of the most standard shots and are very common in all films. It can be used to focus the audience on one specific detail in the scene. There are also multiple types of close ups for example medium close up or extreme close up.
